What really sets us apart is how we connect recovery with opportunity.
Through our Job Employment Resource Center, we help individuals gain the tools they need to re-enter the workforce—everything from resume help and interview prep to ongoing job support. Through our growing social enterprise, participants get hands-on experience working in lawn care, concrete, and handyman services. These are real jobs that build real skills—opening doors to long-term employment, financial independence, and pride in a job well done.

I remember the day I hit bottom—I was sitting in the middle of Sierra Highway, hoping to get arrested because I didn’t know what else to do. I was completely broken, and even the cops drove right past me. That moment of desperation led me to call a friend who helped me get into rehab. After treatment, I reached out to New Road Foundation, and that’s where everything started to change.
At New Road, I didn’t just stay sober—I found recovery. I surrendered to the process, went to a lot of meetings, worked with a sponsor, and committed to the 12 steps. The community there embraced me, and I quickly learned the value of being of service to others.
I spent five years in New Road’s recovery homes, and in that time, my life transformed. I built a relationship with my Higher Power, got steady employment, fixed my credit, bought and sold a house, and met the woman who would become my wife. Most importantly, I now have an amazing relationship with my children.
